Fall 2008 Season

All teams U-10 and up will be required to have three registered AYSO 498 referees representing their team in the coming fall 2008 season.  One of the greatest accomplishments of 498 is our outstanding Referee program.  Parents and youth ages 12 and up are encouraged to become certified.  We are known as having the most supported referee program of any Region in our area.  Make it a family affair, become a referee.

Tip of the week:
Time To Charge Up Your Attitude 
 
Take advantage of every game day and practice. When you meet a volunteer or parent for the first time, it is an opportunity that you won't get again with this person. Project an energetic, enthusiastic attitude for that first encounter. This person could be a potential volunteer or you could help turn this "hour a week" volunteer into a Regional board member. Here are some good phrases to use:

- I love meeting parents who feel that AYSO is as special as I do. Have you ever thought about being a volunteer?
- Thank you for the positive comment. That is the best "pay" for our volunteer work.
- I am so glad that I have finally met you! Our Coach Administrator has told me how great you are working with the five-year-olds.
